Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!

I am so excited for Session 2 of Create and Innovate.  I have decided to downsize a little this Fall so I can enjoy more family time while my kids are still interested in it. Thus, I will only be offering Create and Innovate workshops at St. Timothy's and Booksin Elementary until further notice.

BOOKSIN
SESSION 2 of Create and Innovate will be on Tuesdays, beginning Nov. 10th  – Dec 15th. Start time for 1st-3rd  2:05-3:30 PM - and cost is $180.   Start time for 4th-5th 2:25-3:30 PM - $150

There is a new format at Booksin this year since 1st - 3rd grade students are released at 2:00 PM while 4th and 5th graders are released at 2:25 PM.  This is PERFECT for Create and Innovate because it allows us extra time to introduce the project and assist the littler kids with getting started.  By the time the 4th and 5th graders arrive, the younger children will be busy working so we can focus on introducing a modified version of the project which will be more challenging for the older kids..

Since the 1st – 3rd grade program includes 20 extra minutes for thorough instruction and extended work time, the session will cost $180 while 4th and 5th grader students will pay $150 for the 6 week workshop.

ST. TIMOTHY'S LUTHERAN SCHOOL

Final Session of the 2014-2015 School Year!

The 2014-2015 school year has been incredible!  It has been so much fun working with all of the talented, creative, innovative and adventurous kids in our classes!  I continue to be amazed by the fascinating, out-of-the-box thinking that comes from your children's untethered minds when giving the chance to solve problems, design solutions and create art without restrictions.  I feel a sense of relief knowing that these will be the minds of the future resolving the challenges we will undoubtedly face.

Our last sessions of the year will begin in the next few weeks; 5/22 for Booksin and 5/27 for River Glen. St. Timothy's has a minimum day c and I class on April 22nd from 12 - 3PM.  Please see the right side column for more information.

Your kids can enjoy Create and Innovate at summer camp!  This summer I will be teaching C and I in week long sessions at STLC summer camp. Each session runs from 9:00 - 12:00 PM and cost is just $95 / week.

Each class I offer is a Create and Innovate structured class but with a specific theme.  For example, the class may be called Arts and Crafts, but this will be done the Create and Innovate way! The subjects are as follows:
  • June 15-19 - Superhero Kids
  • July 6-10 - Carnival Fun
  • July 13-17 - Lego Mania
  • July 27-31 - Spy School
  • August 3-7 - Arts & Crafts
  • August 10-14 - Crazy Cooking
Visit the website to register and for more information.

Welcoming 2015 with new Create and Innovate Sessions!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! We will be starting new Create and Innovate sessions this week!  We have many wonderful things to look forward to in the new year! We will be introducing extended class time to Booksin, incredible new projects to all of our schools and new teachers who will bring their own talents and creative passion to each class!

Each school's C and I Session information has been distributed in their Thurs/ Fri envelope at their school and most of the details can be found on the right column of this website,  Please feel free to contact Jill Isaacs for more information.

Session 2 was such a success!!!

Session 2 came and went so fast!  With classes falling in between the change of seasons and the various holidays, we had lot of relevant material to work with.  We made penguin snow globes, 3-D snow flakes popcorn stuffed turkey centerpieces and Thanksgiving table name cards.

We also exercised a lot of innovation when we built robots, invented our own holidays and transformed boxes into anything our imagination could conjure up. Time and time again I heard children exclaim that "Create and Innovate was the best class EVER!"  What an honor it is to work with these wonderful kids.  Thank you to all of the families who have shared their children with us in 2014!

Happy Holidays!

Fall 2014 Session 1 comes to a close

Session 1 was an absolute blast!  All 3 schools had large classes filled with enthusiastic and talented students.  We made fooz ball tables, haunted houses and graduated from spy training! We had wonderful groups of children participate in each of our classes!  Thank you so much to each family who shared their kids with us!!
